towbars help needed for a newbie

I wonder if anyone can help us as we are new to all this. We have just had a towbar fitted to our car and the caravan is going into the shop to be fitted with a on the caravan stabalisers (ALKO) do we need a extended neck tow ball

If the towbar has a bolt-on type towball, yes. If it's detachable, retractable or fixed swan neck, no.

Don't forget to clean the paint or plating off the ball before using it with the stabiliser otherwise you will contaminate the friction pads
