i am thinking about changing my tow car from a nissan terrano to a kia sedona around 2006 model, has anybody towed with a sedona or recomendations for a good tow car, there is only 3 of us and i feel the sedona might be a liitle big for our needs.

I will be towing a coachman wanderer 18/4.

2006 is the changeover year from the last to current model of the Sedona. We have the newer one, a 2.9 litre turbo diesel auto with a kerbweight of 2189Kg. It's a superb towcar, heavier/better torque than many 4x4s. It tows our 1800Kg van with ease.

7 comfortable seats in 2/3/2 configuration but with little luggage space when all individual seats are in place. We usually leave two seats out for our use which allows excellent separation between troublesome kids.

Downsides: don't like the foot operated "hand"brake, too wide for comfort in smaller parking spaces (but resulting in good stability), turbo lag measured with a calendar.

The killer blow for us was the value. Extremely well equipped for a really good price. It's also been more reliable than my BMW over the last year, the Kia hasn't missed a beat.

hello derek, please dont take offence but i havent towed with a sedona, but have had one for approx 2 years from 2004, (and im led to believe theyve improved since the one i had) before buying our first landrover,(discovery 2006 then just got the 2008)but the sedona was far more comfy, having driven to paris twice once with just 2 of us in and the second with 4 and all the luggage.it is very comfy i actually went to look at them before getting the 2nd disco, but do like what i have now...if i had to spend less money i would without hesitation buy another sedona..it is big and heavy and yes causes problems sometimes when parking, but all i can say is go test drive one, because i would assume maybe wrongly but i would assume that you would be doing more miles without the van on the back, hope it helps, merry xmas ED
