My current van has an alko hitch for which I have the appropriate towball on my car.I may be required to tow my daughter's caravan which has the older hitch. My question is ,will I need to change the towball.
A towball which is suitable for an AlKo hitch is universal (except for vintage caravans with a 2" instead of a 50mm coupling). However, if you intend to tow a caravan with a hitch that is not fitted with an integrated stabiliser, like the AlKo, Winterhoff, etc., and which is therefore greased, you must take care to degrease the towball thoroughly before reverting back.
