just taken delivery of new passat estate but can't find any mirrors that fit. Any advice on mirrors used would be great.

try the suction cup type, which adheres to the mirror surface. i haven't tried them but I read a review somewhere that rated them the best. Let us know what they are like if you get some.

Like i always say, you can't beat a good bit of suction!

I just got a pair of the suction cup type and they are the best I've ever used, recommended. No more stress when telling the missus to adjust the mirror on passenger side.

Hi, I was interested in the suction type of mirror but am concerened about damage to the vehicles mirrors in the event of it being hit. I was driving in North Wales recently and 'tho the road was quite narrow there was enough room for passing vehicles. I may be wrong but the van driver coming the other way seemed to deliberately move over to take out my wing mirror (the type that clips into the window channel and under the door. The result was a totaled mirror and damage to the rear door. My fear is if this happened with the suction mirrors all the force is taken on the glass, and as i've found to my cost in the past these mirrors are very expensive replace.

Would be grateful for your thoughts before parting with my hard earned.

could always use the rubber strap on type, but they vibrate a lot as to be almost useless. I suppose that any extension used could damage the car if hit.

I am waiting for puns on :-

a, Rubber

b, Strap on

c, Extension

C'mon folks lets see what you can do!
