Towing Mirrors

Sorry for I'm sure another which mirror question but I've finaly decided to change my car, as some of you may know I've asked opinions on just about every car I could think of, lol, anyway my Rover has gone and it's been replaced by an 05 plate Hyundai Santa Fe, for my Rover I had the proper shaped Rover towing mirrors which obviously I can't use on the hyundai, but my question is do I just go for cheap as chips 4x4 towing mirrors (approx £15 a pair) or do I go for something like the melenco aero or the suck it and see ones for around £45??
 
No question - get the Milenco Aeros. On and off in seconds, no vibration, great view. Just done 2600 miles towing with them with no problems (this is on an Xtrail).

Now for the tricky bit - flat or convex glass? I went to a dealer with the van on the back and he let me test both types of glass and both the standard and the Grand Aero. I do most of my towing abroad so was mainly interested in the left hand view, and I went for the standard shape with flat glass and have been very pleased.
 
Mike I've got a Sorento and have the Milenco Grand Aero. They are not cheap but like all else, you get what you pay for. I've had cheaper ones in the past and they proved to be cheap.

Like Pete said, easy to fit and go for flat glass.
 
I also use flat glass Milenco Grand Aeros, on a Sportage. They give a reasonably stable view, over a wide field of view. On my Caravan Club Manouvering course we were taught to adjust the car's mirrors to provide a view of the front lower corners of the van, and this has kept me out of trouble several times. You can't do this with the stick on ones.

Whatever do not get the stick-ons. They wobble all over the place and render your car mirrors useless.

Milenco by far the better.
 
Hi ive got the stick on ones and never had any problem with wobble.

Our cars got large mirrors and we put the stick ons at the top and can still use the car mirrors too.

You adjust the stick-on mirrors by readjusting the car mirrors so how do you manage to use the car mirror at the same time?

My car mirrors were pointing all over the place.... useless!!!
 
Hi Reg,with the towing mirrors set (with the suckers at the top of the car mirror)i get a good view of the side of the van and its wheels.

The Santa Fe,s got good wide angle mirrors.
