May seem like a stupid question, can anyone tell me which towing mirror goes on which side of the car. I have recently purchased new mirrors in a twin pack, one is flat the other convex and I am unsure which side they go on, can anyone help. Thanks.

But what happens if you buy the mirrors singly like I did? (They were priced per one unit and as I can see there's no difference between them).

When I bought the twin pack I also looked at singles which had flat and convex available. I think the convex makes things appear closer than they actually are, the mirror on the off side of my car seems to have the same effect so maybe the convex goes on this side. Still not 100% sure though????????

Graig, Convex n/side, Flat o/side. Reason for this is to give a wider angle view nearside (if somewhat distorted). Flat should always be used on offside as this gives a true image af approaching/overtaking vehicles. I have operated commercial vehicles for over 35 years and our mirrors are always fitted to this configeration.

Having said that I have just returned from a 2000 mile trip around France with my Caravan and had to change the mirrors over on the second day due to difficulty in judging overtaking vehicles. Personally for towing I think I prefer a flat both sides (much easier for reversing to as both imagage's are true).
