hi all, any recommendations for towing mirrors please. I'm looking at Milenco flat lens type which have articulated mounting arms so appear to be a "universal fit"

EMUK? Expensive but bespoke for each car model. They fit, very firmly, on to the car mirrors without the use of screw clamps. They claim to be vibration free.
 
I have had milenco aero and now grand aero and both have been excellent.
Make sure you buy the alternative pads for your vehicle, I have the vw v-blocks which were great on my Tiguan and now on my Santa Fe.
As for which glass to have, I chose convex and I find them fine
 
I use the suction type (stick onto the existing mirror) from towsure, convex on both sides. I've tried the flat and couldn't see enough from them.
 
Thanks all for your suggestions I will do some research and decide. Van should have been delivered yesterday after a 2 week wait but the PDI has thrown up some issues (only minor) but need sorting before I accept it, hopefully should be here middle of next week. cant wait !!
