Picking up our new van soon and was considering buying a front cover to give protection when on the road. There doesn't seem to be much choice out there but any feedback on makes and models would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Homer S
I bought a model-specific tailored one this year from Protec, it's simple to fit, can access the gas locker easy enough, legal as it has clear panels to let the front marker lights be seen - and importantly, keeps all the crap off the front of the caravan!
The other main manufacturers is Specialised Covers but theirs seem unneccessarily over-styled, complex and expensive.
I think both companies will do a good deal if you want both a winter cover and a towing cover.
After driving over a newly resurfaced road with our old caravan and failing to remover the tar spots we invested in a Specialised Covers front cover for our new van.
The cover is supplied with two LED marker lights plus the parts to cut and reseal the cover if you want to use the vans lights. We use the marker lights supplied.
It was a bit fiddly the first time used but once set up it is easy on subsequence uses as it needs very little adjustment, if any.
For £149 it is good value for peace of mind that tar or stones will not damage the front of the van.
