Towing Sockets

Hi, I had my towbar fitted with single electrics when i bought it then decided to get a second socket installed at a later date for the fridge etc, the only trouble is they fitted the main towing electrics under the car were as the secondary socket is on a mounting plate. it makes conecting the cables very difficult and the length of the cable interfears with the stabiliser. can i buy an extention for the main electrics socket so i can have both sockets mounted on a twin mountin plate. hope you can help, with thanks, wayne

Wayne, Have you checked inside the panel where the connections are made to the car? Most fitters leave surplus coiled up in the event that the socket needs replacing. There may be enough slack to give you the extra distance, it may also be possible to reroute the cable. You could of course make up a short link cable, with a plug on one end and a socket on the other.
