Towing Vehicles

I have an old (1984) Nissan Patrol S/wagon, short wheel base, 2.7 6 cyl petrol with 4 speed gear box. It is a 4 x 4.

The vehicle is in mint condition. Is this a suitable vehicle to tow a caravan with a loaded mass of 1200 kg?

I terms of weight I would have thought that your patrol is over 1411 kgs (what it would need to be to tow 1200kg safely - 85% ratio). If you're not sure of the weight, go to a public weighbridge to get it checked. In terms of power for towing, the size of the engine would suggest that it's OK.
