We tow with a VW Sharan which is the same as a Galaxy it is 1.9 Diesal and we have no problems what so ever it tows like a dream. The height helps with wind resistance. This is our 3rd tow car and easily the best. The kids love it for the space as do the dogs, ideal tow car

I tow with a Ford Galaxy 1.9 Diesel (115ps) Automatic.

A great tow car. Very stabe and as it is 1700kg unladen and up to 2400kg max laden, it tows my 1250kg van well within the Caravan Club recommended 85%.

As you will know the Galaxy has loads of space (if the third row of seats is removed.)

I get about 38mpg overall driving solo and about 24-27mpg towing.

our galaxy 1.9tdi manual 130bhp tows our coachman laser590/4 with no problems what so ever even though it is matched at 97%. yes i am an experiaced tower so no problems with the match, and the galaxy just ooses confidence. we are in the prosses of changing our van for an ace celebration 590/6 (glossop special) which is 200 kg lighter than the laser so we anticipate an even beter towing experiance. we can not fault this car at all and would highly recommend it.

I seem to remeber that they have limited towing capacity. So, it depends on what caravan you've got. I two with a Sedona, 85% rule = 1800 tonnes. Brilliant

Chris, - 85% is a guideline not a rule. However it is a sensible target.
