Preamble:
Our second external TyrePal system has gone faulty, albeit this one having worked very well since July 2015, so not feeling "robbed".
We use the basic 4/5 sensor TB99 system just using two channel for the SA caravan, even though I know its not the specific trailer version, but not that it worries, it just worked.
What is failing is the LCD digits, the left sides of the digitally formed characters are missing so display wise you can't for example know if the character is 55 or 65 psi. The warning side knows, just I can't read it. This happened initially a year back, where I simply switched to use two of the other redundant channels, but now its failing there again on that.
Now to the point:
I see TP now ask £120 for the modern version, again I know CMC membership gives a bit of discount. [CMC is £95 ish]
However, on that auction site, seemingly as functionally adequate units are about £15/17 only an eighth of the TP offering.
Anyone direct experience of these cheaper units, are these any good?
I am decidedly reticent to buy the TP again given the price, my not perfect experience having had two fail, my age and the fact I know it still audibly warns so does the critical element of the job, though, investing sub £20 is readily acceptable.
Any feedback, before I risk "wasting" effectively only the cost of three to four good coffees?
