Tracker tags

Major con: If someone nicks it you may get it returned to you at some point 😀
Seriously, I asked this some time ago. The main issue seems to be that ( as far as I understand it-someone will correct me) they work by pinging off a nearby iPhone ( or similar). Depending on your storage arrangements this may not work.

If you want a tracker they are a very cheap way of doing the job. But limited as they rely on being close’ish to a smart phone.

Great for suitcases etc.

Given how cheap they are worth hiding one on caravan. I have mine inside locker. Mount to outside wall ideallly not metal to get best signal levels.

Your correct. They are Bluetooth devices which have a limited range. Typically 10m but Apple don't/won't specify their range.

So it relies on someone with a smartphone with Bluetooth enabled being nearby and also signed up for the Find My Device service.
