Tracking devices

I've been looking at some tracking devices for the new motorhome. Some are a bit pricey but there is a stand alone one from a company called Back2you.com which is rechargeable and works on a SIM card which reports back to your phone. Does anyone have experience of this device?
Thanks

Well I've bought one now and let me say to all those who obviously don't use this forum....it's very good, and a lot cheaper than the preferred option of caravanguard insurance

It probably puts out APRS signals that can be seen on the appropriate software and is very effective.
Does it allow "you" to monitor where the van is. Very handy if you cant remember where you parked it !

You can rig systems up like this with raspberry pi (computers) or radios - if you are licenced to receive the signal on your mobile phone. Obviously more hassel than buying one as you have done

Yes you can monitor. I've set it so that if it moves 200m I get a text and every three minutes thereafter showing its position. There are a whole host of settings which I probably don't need but for £175 + the SIM card top up its pretty good peace of mind IMHO

Is one of the settings to be able switch off the electronics remotely ? Thats what I would like. To say stop them dead on the M4, that would put the 'bejasus' up them.
And means that the van would be, wherever you 'Stopped' it, instead of it still moving until it got to a Traveller site.
