I have a small caravan NIEWIADOW and i want to travel to Italy and Croatia. During my trip i will need to do overnights (i do not want to stay to camping sites, or spend the night in lakes and etc..) Something like camper stop just for overnight. Or maybe in highway parking.
Do you have any suggestions about these countries?
Because i see that many camper stops don't accept caravans.
I would like to aks you for advice. I see so many people towing caravans and i am wondering where do they overnight?
Thank you very much!!!

Hi Vasilis.

We have only ever overnighted on designated sites. Though CL’s are good for us. This is for the extra safety and security.

Always seems wrong and discriminatory to me that France provide places for motorhomes and campers. But seeing the way some of them pack in, it is not for us.

My first thought was why anyone would wish to stop at the roadside rather than on some kind of campsite. But I just had a look at NIEWIADOW - quite a cool cargo carrying / sleeping combo for active travellers (younger than almost everyone here). I could imagine someone embarking on a 10,000 mile trip across Asia with that, and unlikely to find many caravan sites!
1500kg payload is quite immense, most people on this forum are used to leaving everything at home so as to stay within about 150kg.
Sorry - none of that is much use as advice. Save to say that almost everyone with a caravan tours via official camping sites, small or large, whatever suits. Does doing that really not work for you? You can easily phone/web enquiry your way as you go.
