Trio/ Isabella Awning Rafters Bayonet Fastenings renewal

The bayonet lugs on the roof rafters on my Trio awning (same as Isabella) have all broken. I have got replacement ends to repair them, but the problem is removing the old end caps from the poles,they won't budge. (for obvious reasons)

The only solution I've come up with is to saw them off and create a new pole end.

Has anyone else renewed theirs and if so what was your solution?

NO......STOP....DONT SAW THEM OFF....they should come off with a little persuasion.they only push fit on.never had to take them off myself but.....you must not saw them off.phone isabell for the best way to take them off,they will probably twist off.

Try puttin a steel bolt about 3 or 4" long down the open and bounce the bolt up &down in the tube ,it always works for me

Used a length of about 1/2 inch dowel rod just tapped it on floor and pieces popped off!
