Hi All
I have a question that I'm sure someone will probably have the answer for, possibly Damian.
I've just been looking at the space between the chassis and the motor mover assembly on my caravan with a view to fitting shock absorbers. The space looks very narrow. In checking I noticed that the roller of the motor mover only engages with about three quarters of the tread width of the tyre but that there is also about a quarter of the roller not touching the tyre at all on the inside end of it. Surely this is not correct although it is how an approved Truma agent / Approved Workshop fitted it in the first place.
It looks as though it is a fairly simple job of slackening the bolts on each side, including the cross actuator, and sliding the units outwards by the required amount. Is my assumption correct and if so should the bolts be to any specific torque? It doesn't look as though it needs any separate spacers adding in anywhere.
By doing this I would get a better contact area of roller to tyre and also gain the space needed to get the shockers in.
Any help would be appreciated.
