While away in my caravan recently my Whale Water Master submersible pump started to play up. Fortunately, it was nothing more than a loose connection which was easily fixed. However, while trying to find out what the issue with the pump was, I connected the Truma Ultraflow pump I keep in reserve and was quickly reminded my I swapped to the Whale version. The Truma hose is very stiff and inflexible which can put strain on the inlet housing. I had a think and today I replaced the Truma hose with a flexible Whale shotgun type hose which are available online for around £10. It was a very easy job, the most difficult part was removing the pinch clips which secure the hose to the water spigots in the connector and on the pump. After careful measuring and cutting, I slipped the electric cable through one of the bores, connected up the pump and connector and fitted new pinch clips. The pump spigot has a reducer on it which the Whale pipe simply slips onto. The spigot inside the connector is bigger but after immersing the pipe in very hot water it slipped on without a problem.
