Truma ultraflow water housing

Hi all my friend wanted me to ask this question he wants to swap a crystal mk2 for a truma ultraflow filter housing, the thing is he doesn't know whether he needs a surge damper or he can just swap it straight over and use it?
His van is an abbey vogue 418

hi, I may be wrong on this, in which case someone will be along to correct it but,
I believe the crystal housing is the same size as the truma so it should be a straight swop, as for the surge damper I would keep it as it is there to to stop water hammer as the taps and pump switch on/off,
tell him to make sure all the sealant is cleaned off and renewed with sealastik or similar NOT domestic silicon,
oh and he may need a different pump conector at the filter end.
