TRUMA Ultraflow

I've just bought a Truma Ultraflow conversion kit to replace my old Carver one.
As far as I can make out, the literature advises changing the filter 35 days after first use - this effectively would mean that I change the filter everytime that I use the 'van (when using, say, 4 times a year).
I'd be grateful to know of others' views/experiences. Also, whether the filter is needed at all. Thanks.

There is no need to use the filter as long as you use something to weigh the entry pipe to the bottom of the aquaroll.
In practice I change the filter twice a year. The caravan is used a helll of a lot.
The 35 day thing is an attempt to stop the build up of bacteria and the you sue Whale for a defective product.
Choice is yours. Good luck

I chucked out the water filter on my caravan about 10 years ago, as I had come to the conclusion that it was not necessary.

Just to confirm I am not writing this from the "hereafter" but am alive and kicking...
Happy Caravanning
Regards
