Hi,

I've recently bought my first caravan - a 2010 Adria Altea 542 DT. I've got to grips with most things but I'm still a bit baffled by the truma water heater. I know it can work off the battery, hook up or gas, and I'm sat here hooked up on a site with hot water, but I have no idea what method is being used to heat it!

So my question is how do you switch from 12v, 230v and gas to heat the water. There's a switch beside the water heater control dial but no idea what it does - pic attached.

Any help appreciated!

When you say Truma water heater do you mean the the ultratore > (sort round/square grey unit under front seats ) with a separate space heater ( Truma Ultraheat) If so then first point :-It doesn't run off the battery (heat wise)but does require 12V to operate the controls (except the 230V heater) the switch on the wall just activates the 230V heater element and this will heat the water to 70 Deg C when the thermostat fitted to the water tank trips and switches it off) no wall controls. The gas has a dial control with a green/red LED , this activates the gas system and if it lights the green led will stay on , if the red led comes on then its failed , dont forget to remove the cover on the outside of the caravan if running on gas . the 230V and gas system can be run concurrently , but remember the gas system is more powerful the the electric

Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. That makes sense, so the dial as pictured in your reply is only necessary when operating on gas? The simple on/off switch on the right in my photo will heat the water from the 230v and has no temp control? Thanks
