Truma water heater

Hi ,I have a Abbey 417 2002 that requires a truma water heater element ,450w . no one seems to have stock of this part, and it has been suggested I can fit a 850w element.my problem is the original does not have a connection for a thermostat , but the 850w has a lead for the external thermostat,do I just ignore this extra lead or connect it to somewhere. hoping someone can help

To answer your question, NO, you cannot replace a 450w element with an 850w element as there is no facility on your model to attach the external thermostat.
