Truma water heater

2006 Swift Charisma. New to Caravaning.
The Truma Ultrastore water heater works perfect in gas and was ok on electric but last time out tripped the site post now not working on electric but still great on gas took element out thinking that was the cause but looks perfect, any of you experts any thoughts.

The element may "look" perfect but they always do !!!!
You need to use a multimeter to check the resistance to determine if it is any good or not.
From my experience you will find that it has failed and a replacement is the only answer.

It is normal for a short circuiting heater element to trip the bollard first, before the van.

Hi, it was the temperature sensor that comes as part of the Truma element package that was faulty, I fitted a new element including sensor just after Christmas and all working fine now.
Thanks for your help.
