Tv / Aries / sat dish

Hi
Our caravan came with a satallite dish and receiver and a standard looking house ariel with a pole mast, we also have a ariel on top of the van. The TVs we are using has freeview built in.
is there a need for the satellite dish or will most sites be ok with the standard Arial.

Hello Ratty,
It all depends on where you are staying. In many places the caravan/house aerial may be fine for free view.- but you might need to retune the set. But in other areas particularly remote sites, you may you cannot get a strong freeview signal, in which case the satellite will be the way to go or find something else to do πŸ˜‰

Edit ; I only referring to UK sites, if you travel abroad you will need to go sateilte.

I purchased an extended co ax cable and if my van antenna does not work for what ever reason then I have found most sites that have weak signals supply a coax connection on the electric hook up which works fine. Hope that helps
