Coljac,
The only way to get UK TV outside the UK is via a satellite dish.
If you don't want the premium services (SKY) and are happy with the Freeview channels (BBC1 to 4, ITV1 to 3, etc) then you can get a FreeSat equivalent - lets you pick up the free digital channels but via the satellite.
You should also be able to receive BBC Radio on the FreeSat as well - the DAB radio channels are broadcast as well.
In the UK you can use a small "mini" dish because the satellite is aimed at the Uk, but as you head further South you move away from the strongest satellite signals - so you'll need a bigger and bigger sat. dish as you head further South.
Now I say all this as if we have this set-up in our van, but no.
At home we have a FreeView TV, but we've never bothered with a TV in the caravan - and listen to music from a Walkman MP3 player or to the BBC World Service on a short wave radio.
