Twin Axle Motor Mover Advice

Hi there, I have a Bailey Pageant Loire S7 and am thinking of having a motor mover fitted. I have been advised by our local dealer that the Truma TE is best for the job, but having looked around i'm unsure that this is the case given that it only operates two of the wheels, where alternative manufacturers have 4WD systems. Can anyone advise as I have a tight 90 degree manuvre to make when parking the van at home. Many thanks.

Hi Chris, we have a twin axle swift conqueror 630 (1810 kg)

we had a powrtouch (single axle) mover fitted, i didn't want the twin mover, i think its too much extra weight and looks ugly!

We store our van at my parents and have to turn it through 90 degrees, it won't turn in one arc, we have to shuffle it back and forth.

It is no trouble, the mover works really well, its cheaper than the truma, longer warranty and powrtouch are exceptionally good with warranty work!

personally, i wouldn't have anything else.

Hi Chris, We've got a Sterling Elite Searcher & the Truma TE mover. It's engages electronically & works well - perfectly adequate in most situations, although as with any T/A you do have to shuffle it a bit in tight turns.

On our last van we had the Powertouch S/A mover. Again ideal for the job. IMO the truma is a better mover, but either will give you good service.

Hi Chris

We have just fitted the Power Touch 4 wheel system to our new T/A Swift 630. We had it fitted with the single mover which had worked on our previous two T/Axle vans allbeit with shuffling backwards and forwards but the 630 was just too heavy for the single to cope with.

With the 4 wheel drive it works really well and would turn your van through 90 degrees with the minimum of fuss.

Hi Chris. I, like John had a Powrtouch mover fitted to my Fleetwood Heritage this year which only operated on two wheels. The van is very heavy and even on a slight incline the mover didn't want to turn the van. On advice from a Powrtouch fitter I upgraded to the 4 wheel drive model and it works exceptionally well. However if the Pageant Loire is 1700kg or less then I think the Powrtouch for twin axles working on only two wheels will suffice, though as others have said some shuffling will be needed.

On my experience I would certainly recommend Powrtouch just for their after sales advice and guidance. It was not their fault that the dealer fitted the wrong mover in the first place.
