I don't have one, but last summer I was talking to someone who did. The conclusions were;

Washes quite well.

Takes a double duvet.

Saves queuing for the site facilities, or lugging to off-site launderette.

Spin is fair, but not as good as "domestic" machine.

In wet or cold weather you are still left with the problem of trying to get things dry.

It's another fairly heavu item off your load allowance.

Probably a good idea if you have a seasonal pitch, or go for a long stay on one site, but not if you tour.

I would also say that you should be able to beat Towsure's price.

As we are on a seasonal pitch we considered none of these but decided it may be a bit impractical. Filling up would be a problem for me due to back problems and arthritis. Any suggestions as the wife would not be able to lift a 40 litre barrel. Also what do you do with the waste water as surely you can't dump it by the pitch and to lug it to the waste water point would be a hassle as you would then have to empty it into a container from the machine.

Actually how do you work these twin-tubs, how do you empty surely it does not sit on sink work top, or do you put in the shower cubicle, I have a portable caravan washer electric it's ideal for static vans, but will not sit on sink unit in tourer, I have a lever under to drain water out into the sink, but I like the idea of the twin-tub because it has a spinner. I am not sure whether I would be better off with this twin-tub, or should I stick to my portable washer which I can use in the shower cubicle. Any advise who owns one of these twin-tubs would be appreciated. Liz

We tried ours out on a table with ajustable legs, aprox 12 inches off the floor as we are not able to use it in the van yet. We spun the waste water into a water container which I guess we would take to the disposal point. We decided this would work on site, hope this helps

I haven't bought mine yet,but looking at the size of the machine it would be to big to put on worktop next to sink, Liz from what i can make out it has a hose to let the water out which could sit in the shower tray, you could possibly use shower head to fill with water and aid with rinses in spinner, although i dont think id leave the machine in the shower while useing it only the outlet hose, and of course have to be very careful of water and electrics,id have to use use an extension lead which i hope would stay outside the bathroom.

Gosh it brings back memories of my twin tub from over 20 years ago when wash day was an all day affair.

Thanks for info. not sure what to do, like you have not bought one yet, the one I already have will sit in my shower, electrics are on the top so no danger of them getting wet, no hoses, just a lever under to drain the water. I could if I decided to get one stand it outside the shower and run the hose into the shower try, lets wait and see if more people reply who have bought one. Liz

We empty our washer by putting the knob onto drain then into a bucket which we take the bucket to the disposal point. Refilling or filling is ok you don,t need a large container, we just use an ordinary water container, usually fills up after two fills. It can be used with either cold water or hot water by boiling the kettle a couple of times. We,ve used both hot and cold water and the results have both been good. To use the spinner I don,t even squeeze the water out I put the water shoggy clothes straight into the spinner after rinsing and the spinner manages it well. Hope this helps. Erica.

Thanks Erica, It seems you are very pleased with yours, I do like the sound of the twintub, the spinner would be very useful,

I still cannot make my mind up whether to splash out on one, or keep the one I have, it just washes and rinses,no spin. Liz

Well done Sheila, please let me know what you think after using it. Regards Liz
Hi Liz

i've tried out the washer and have to say i'am really pleased with it,even my grandaughters grubby clothes came clean, the spinner is excellent as good as domestic machine.

I found it best to put it on a low table, mainly to save my back, but also to get it to empty completly as it is down to gravity to empty it via a pipe at the rear.

You should be able to use it in your static shower ok,although i have to say it's quite big for use in tourers, i'd advise checking out measurements and think about the storage space you will need for it,before buying for use in tourers,i can fit mine in the shower, and use shower head for filling ect.

Or it could be used in awning but, getting water to it could be a bit of pain.

But overall iam very pleased with it.

Sheila
