your van is 2005 & the tyres are due for replacement if not allready do so.The original tyres were tralormax 195/75/14R @42psi
these tyres & that tyresize are extremly hard to find now & with Baileys consent I changed mine to Avon supervan 185 R14C.@50psi
these have a load factor of 102 against 96 for the trailormax & give me the recommended 10% load safety factor that was not available with the original tyres/tyre size.See http://www.tyresafe.org/caravantyres/ for info on tyres

Going back to the OP it should be realised that no one can quote the tyre pressures for a caravan
without having certain other information.
For example, my caravan was supplied new with tyres with an inflation pressure of 42 psi.
I replaced these tyres with superior commercial van specification tyres that have an inflation pressure of 50psi for the weight of my caravan.
A caravan manufacturer only quotes the pressures of the tyres he has fitted when supplying a new caravan.
Any owner fitting new tyres or a new owner of a second-hand caravan should first make sure their caravan is fitted with suitable tyres and then inflate those tyres to the correct pressure for the weight of their caravan.

I have a 2005 (March) S5 Bordeaux and the pressuers are 42psi cold. The tally plate near the door is blank (not due to washing) and I am trying to obtain a replacement from Bailey as my van has had the weight upgrade from 1360 to 1400kgs.

Re tyres have a look at the GT Radial Kargomax 6000 it has a higher rating than the OEM Trailermaxx and is a specific trailer tyre. Got mine online from 'pneus online' and had it fitted locally. With the load upgrade to 1400kg the OEM tyres only had a total20kg margin!!!! So much for the 10% recommended.

How relevant is the information on the plate with regard to VOSA? Could you be 'done' for not having the tyres/pressures on your caravan that the plate specifies!
The plate is not a legal requirement, but is a requirement of the industry Code of Practice. You cannot be "done" for not having the correct MTPLM or tyre sizes on the plate, but it does cause considerable confusion if you are stopped by VOSA or the police.

I have just lifted this small extract from a reputable website
"1982 regulations demand that all trailers, including unbraked ones, must be clearly marked with their maximum gross weight in kg. This may be checked at any time by the police at a weighbridge. Since 1 January 1997, all unbraked trailer plates must show the year of manufacture."
I seem to remember having this conversation with Prof John L a few years ago when he was adamant he never needed to replace the weight plate on his caravan as it had faded, I also seem to remember that he went off and found the information needed.............and replaced his faded plate.

The max weight of the van is without doubt a legal requirement, I well recall Dad painting his on the 'A' frame leg in the late 70's, complete with runs in the paint!! this was the proviso to a speed increase from towing at the then 40mph to the current 50mph.
Your link to the NTTA site puts me in mind of the guy who started that Organisation, years ago he was a regular poster on caravan forums and his knowledge and advice beyond reproach. Today without him, this tyre question has become a constant merry-go-round of opinion, with seemingly no definitive answer?
