Hi,
I have noticed today for the first time that I have a sticker on one of my wheels (twin axle) but not the others, saying tyron band fitted.
Do they only fit a sticker to one wheel? or all the wheels that they are fitted to?
It seems strange to only have one wheel identified
Anyone have these fitted? with an answer

Thanks
Steve.

Each wheel that th ebands are fitted to "should" have a sticker, but either your have come off, or there is no band fitted, which could be interesting come tyre change time, especially if you do not have the allen key for them

Thanks for this information, I would imagine that the stickers have come off, as the van (lunar delta ti) was only 1 year old when we bought it, and there wouldent be any sense in fitting 1 band?
do you know what is the size of the allen key is, as I didnt know you needed one, and I will have to go and buy one just in case of any tyre problems, especially when we use the van abroad as we do every year.

Thanks
Steve

The Allen key is a very long one, with a sphereically ground working end that you will struggle to buy through normal tool outlets. Contact Tyron/ Gaslow for the right one; it cant cost much.

As said, all wheels should have a sticker on. Re the allen key, wouldn't worry too much about it. The mobile Kwik Fit fitter who changed my tyres last year had his own. The depot where he went for the tyres was where I had gone to a few days earlier to have the tyres changed. They didn't want to know saying they are a pain in the A$£e, get the mobile guy!!!!!! So i did, they where the only ones who would deal with them. Having watched him change them and the time it took, im surprised I didn't get charged double and I do tend to agree with the depot guys.

My van has had tyron bands fitted since new, 13 years ago! The original stickers are still in place & so I find it doubtful that yours have ‘fallen off’. To the best of my knowledge Vanmaster are the only company that fit them as standard, I feel therefore that it’s more likely that one wheel had to be changed for some reason by the dealer & the only replacement they had available at the time had a band fitted. The only way to check would be to have a look, any tyre place could do that easily.
As to the allen key required, it is a special long one. I’ve never had a problem in getting new tyres fitted but I know others that have had problems when on the continent. If you contact tyron they can supply a removal kit with instructions in all European languages. That would give you peace of mind.
