reminds me of a problem i had with my blow air heater on my bustner ,it would blow warm or hot at first then suddenly blow cool for ages even hours even though i thought it was too cold . eventually had some sensor changed near the fire place that sorted it,even though the dealer twice said everything was fine!

It took me four years to solve the same problem. .
At the back of the heater are two thermal overload devices. One cuts out at circa 130 degs . It will cool down and a while later switch back on. The other is
similar in looks but is a final fail safe cut off at circa 180 degs C. This one fails and that's that.
The gas supply and flue usually need to be disconnected to reach these items so I recommend a good mobile qualified engineer is used.

this sounds the same problem i have ,,heats up first time then ,,goes off for ages blowing cold air ,,,

called gary..... he told me this is a known problem the thermostat is affected by the fire from the inside of the wardrobe and that a remote sensor would fix this ,,,,will get one when i return home ,,,thanks gary
