I have never heard of so many failures on a single van such as yours.
The Ultrastore should last the lifetime of the van if treated properly as all it is , is the equivalent of a kettle, just a bit bigger.

Can you be more specific where the leak is ? and was the original replaced with new or second hand?

I had one fail on the 240 volt mains element seal, water leaked from the seal.
It was my fault because the power was left on when the system was drained. Other than that it never failed.

The unit leaks thro a small expansin pipe,to outside,at the bottom of the cowel as it should do if the water vessel is holed.the pump kicks in every 2hrs to re presurize the system coz of the drip drip drip leak.2new units fitted,(cheaper on labour than repair)and also 1repair by truma who are v.cagey about the cause,(design fault!).we use the hot water twice a day for an hour each time and look after the van well.25yrs of caravaning exp.ime stumped, and frustrated as no one else seems to suffer.

We had to replace the red plastic T-piece which is the pressure relief valve, I was told it was a common problem - once you find a good source of the T-pieces it's simply to change when needed

Having read your reply, if on the original unit , and the two replacement units, the water was leaking from the breather pipe on the red elbow of the water heater then that is a common problem as the elbow contains the pressure relief valve which is easily damaged.
However, the cost of a new elbow is around £10 and takes a max of 5 minutes to change, nowhere near the cost of a complete replacement unit.

You can find replacements here: http://www.caravanaccessoryshop.co.uk/brand/Truma/4
Page 5.

There are two types, make sure you get the right one.

If the heater is leaking at the bottom of the cowel, then it is coming out of the condensator, if it is coming out of the red T pierce then any water would head down the clear plastic tube that is attached to the T piece, the water would then show under the van/Motorhome as a wet patch directly below where the clear plastic tube comes out.

Thanks martin,it is defo the condesate pipe that is driping, not the red pressure relief pipe.pump kicks in every 40mins or so to re pressurise.we turn pump off in the night to stop being disturbed.the drip drip is worse when water is hot,all the signs of the previous tank problems. Thanks
