Under attack - from a pump

Have just been away in our new Bessacarr 525 2006 model for the first time. Everything worked ok apart from the On board water tank pump. When we filled the tank and tried to use the pump it felt like we were under machine gun attack, water did come through but not at the rate it should and have.

The pump is a Posiflow and I have been told that they are noisy but this!!!!!. Half of the noise appeared to be comong from the pump which I could live with but the gunfire appeared to be coming from near to the hot water tank. Tried the screw adj at the top of the pump but this did not make any difference. I know I may have to get it looked at by the dealers but if anybody has any bright ideas it would be appreciated. I apologise to anybody pitching near us at Hunter Moon this weekend and in particular to the elderly gentlemen i saw running for cover. All other aspects of the water system were fine.

Thanks in advance, please keep answers as simple as possible as i am not very technical.

Hi Andrew,

We used our 2006 Bessacarr 625 this weekend for the first time and there was hardly any noise from the pump at all, infact, you could barely hear it. I would think you have something wrong with yours, and would suggest you return it to the dealers for investigation.

thanks for that. Unless someone has a simple solution it will have to go back to the dealers, thankfully I can get it looked at under warranty a couple of miles away it is just the hassle.

Hope you enjoy your new van, at Hunters Moon there was another brand new Bess 550 out on its first outing. All the best.

Didn't your dealer demonstrate how to operate all the equipment during handover when you collected it? All dealers should do this for a new caravan, regardless of the brand.

The handover was very thorough, however they are not likely to put 40 ltrs in the on board tank to demonstrate it.

look for a white plasic disk attached to the pipe work near the tank. Switch on a tap and then turn it clockwise until the clicking stops and the water starts to pump correctly
