unit match

I have a lunar astara 525 mtplm of 1300kg am considering a peugeot 406 estate hdi, would welcome any info as to weather this would be a suitable match, this is a 5 berth van but would only be carrying kit for 2 adults & no awning. thanks

Hi Eileen

I do not have first hand knowledgeof the 406 but form freinds that do it would seem to be a capabile tower,Whatever unit you have it is very improtant that you use the 85% rule,To find this : kerbweight of car =a

divided by 100=b

b multiplied by85 =towing weight of vehicle,

allso watch nose weight

this will be in car hand book and caravan book, you must choose the lowest figure of the two if they do not match, keep all haevy items below waist height..ie over axel. have fun. If you need any more help come back

jim.thanks for info,we have been on the forecourt to look at the 406 and done a few sums its nose weight is 80kg and 85% is 1,235kg from a 1,450kg kerb weight.i think we will test drive later today.thanks
