Update

Well, I have the results of my operation today and its all gone well. The fixator (maccano bit) is now locked for 4 weeks and then will be relaxed. I have also been told I can now start to load it and can (if I feel up to it) drive again.

All I need now is to get some bloody sleep!

that's fantastic news, was a bit worried about you today (see other posts)!

you take it easy if you intend to drive.

Try (if you can stand it) burning lavender oil in the evenings, it relaxes you.

Thanks Lolly but the problem with the sleep is that if my leg is still for anything over 20 mins the pain starts. I am told theis is normal at this stage and will go now the fixator is locked. It should be gone in a week.

I fall asleep, 30 mins later I am awake trying to get rid of the pain and then it takes me over an hour to get back to sleep.

But I can nap during the zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That's good news Steve. Can't help you with suggestions for trying to get some sleep, sorry.

Have you got any suggestions to help people stay awake (apart from viagra?).
