We're heading for this part of Italy, end of May, first fortnight of June. We don't need sites with pools or entertainments - somewhere relaxing!!
We've booked Dover- Dunkirk and, although well travelled in many other parts of Europe, this area is new to us.
Any suggestions re routes (especially Mt Blanc/ St Bernard), sites (the area around Cogne sounds nice!), etc would be most welcome.
Thanks, in anticipation
Mike

hi mike.
very limited camping sites around Aosta, more the back to nature type so your choice will be limited, www.camping.it would give you a list although just doing a search of camping in Aosta valley would surface. personally i would stay close to Aosta itself as the higher reaches could still suffer from snow, the gran san bernard pass usually opens about that time of year, but i have been there when it was still closed till june 7th same applies to the petit bernard both well worth a visit, although mont blanc tunnel and the gran san bernard tunnel are always open...
shortest, dearest and most boring route is via mont blanc, calais, riems, dejon, dole ect. basically A26..A5..A31..A39 A40. but to be
honest as you are towing its really the best route too..
Trouble with late may early june is the nights are cold the days could be cool and indeed wet too. Cogne? can i assume you enjoy walking? some great hiking to be had around there and some spectacular views too if you intend to do some hiking....

can i suggest a day out driving to courmeyeur onto entreves, palud and onwards, road is ok a few campsites and hotels its a dead end after about 5 miles but you can take the paths into france or switzerland awesome...
