Van Battery Charger Problems

I have a problem with charging my battery whilst on the van, I have 240v, I have 12v from the RCD unit and I have 12v from the battery, but no charge from the RCD unit to the battery. Their are no external fuse's on the RCD unit and I don't want to dismantle the unit. My van is a Barrons Lifestyle (Swift Charisma)

Any Idea's?

I presume that the unit that you are calling the "RCD" unit is in fact the charger power suppply.

If I read it right you know there is 12 v available from the unit because you can operate the 12v equiment with the battery out of circuit i.e. disconnected. You also know that the battery will operate the 12v equipment with the charger switched off. Is that correct?

Has you unit got a three position switch i.e. van battery one way, car battery the other, with a central unmarked position that allows you to run the 12v with the charger only which isolates the battery from the charger?

Hi Ray,

Yes to all your questions! The switch position does not alter the charging, or lack of it. I checked the out put at the battery clips with a 12v volt meter and a big Zero!!!
