Can I just say ‘it’s bl**dy cold’!

Having got back from Spain yesterday: where is the warm weather? (didn’t take the van).

The folk in the fish & chip shop thought I was mental as I was hugging the fryer (the metal thing not the person)

Just to rub it in – day time temp between 26 and 38, night time between 26 and 33. The pool temp never fell lower than 28 and never higher than 30.

The BBC recon that our area (w/mids) will reach a whopping 14 today

We are/where planning to take the van out for the weekend in the next couple of weeks but we are now reconsidering our options (can you get a van in the hold of a 737? Now where is the Ryanair phone number!)

Never have I been called a woosie but I cannot argue, there has to be a first time for all things and yes this is it!

We have been out to get some shopping and yes I put shorts on but changed my mind when I got to the car and went back and put jeans on.

Ryanair will take the van but the airport handlers have refused because I refused to allow them to put an overweight sticker on the van.

I am now looking into the 737 towing the van!

Good evening mon ami Kelvin
As a man of the world it's never too late to be called a Woosie. Anyone who can feel the cold in England in August really needs to join the Woosie Club. I bet you have a double jumper and the gas fire on tonight

As the Leader of the Woosies on here , you are hereby most cordially invited to become a member of the Woosie table, round or whatever else you prefer and defend the honour at all times of all of us Woosies.
Good to have you on board. Stick the Spanish, a lot more good things going on here in Woosie land..

Welcome to the Woosie club Kelvin, it is actually an honour to be guided and be under the wing of our leader DD
(you could ask ryan air to strap the van to the wing).
By the way do you want to borrow a coat?

Now come on! You have to agree 14deg C is piggin cold compared to 28 or even 38deg C. And, and, and the West Mids cannot offer a suitable alternative to a nice Vino Tinto at less than £2 a bottle as compensation. And even a 75cent 1lt carton of Vino Tinto made into sangria as it’s appeal (like swallowing battery acid and being hit over the head with a spade)

I will not let ‘She’ put the heating on, so ‘She’ is sitting with a big jumper and bed socks, I’m half expecting to see her with a blanket and a flask next time I walk in.

Mind you the ave (as quoted by the BBC) is min12 – max20; with the recorded lowest of 6 and the highest of 33. (33 must have been 76 or 78, I remember them well). The Beeb recon a low of 10 tonight Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiittttttttt. Yippee it may get up to 18 tomorrow.

Call me Mr Woosie even a whimp if you must but you can never convince me that cold is better!?!

If its any consolation Kelvin, I know how you feel, back in 2001 we went to New Zealand in December and it was 38 deg and when we landed at Heathrow it was -5 deg, came down the A303 past Stonehenge covered in snow wearing shorts!!!! But I did win a pint off the brother in law when we went back in 2006 as he betted me I would'nt wear my shorts all the way home.
Ps Dont forget your hot water bottle when you go to bed

I agree with Kelvin as anything below 20C is freezing! We left South Africa in the middle of winter in 1993 and the temperature in Durban was 26C and on landing here in the middle of summer at Heathrow it was 11C! I though the pilot had taken a wrong turn and we were in Iceland. Still can't get used to the cold weather in summer.
