Hiya everyone, do any of you tow a caravan with a Frontera? The wife fancies a 2.0 sport the towing limit is 2000kg but what are they like?, is the long wheelbase much different? It's a petrol model that we have had a look at, low milage and very clean inside and out, full service history etc, full mot and 8 months tax. Looks nice but I know nothing about them, so........................

Hi Phil,

We had a Frontera Sport for quite a few years. Fortunately it was a 2.8 TDi, very strong towcar with plenty of low down grunt, with approx 36 MPH solo. The 2.0 petrol engined model would struggle to cope and has to be hammered to get it moving, which give poor MPH. There was a later model with a 2.2 diesel which would be good too. Ours was a "N" reg, but I would think the 2.8 TDi models are probably quite rare.

Hope you have luck finding an appropriate towcar?

Sorry for the delay, bit busy. Thanks for the input, I have taken on board what you have said and think that the Mondeo may stay with us for a while longer. It's a good car and I get around 30 mpg when towing the caravan, and 50 on a run solo.
