My last three caravans gas locker could take two cylinders , either 6 kg propane or 7 kg butane.
Whilst the bases of these and the smaller ones may be the same I am not certain the retaining straps are mounted low enough to firmly secure the “dumpy “ cylinders in transit. My straps may struggle and may need serious remounting to accommodate the smaller cylinders

I tend to strap down my gas cylinders with the straps going around the Neck of the cylinder, there for holding them down into the plastic base.,

Thanks, but does it use the same connector as a propane bottle or is a clip on like for a Butane bottle.
Mine is a vertically pushed down clip on regulator. Once connected the lever is turned through 90 degrees to open the gas flow. To shut down, turn lever through 90 degrees back to the horizontal, then press release catch which is just under the lever. Mine is like the one in the link below but without the pressure gauge as the cylinder has a gauge, but still better to swing the cylinder to gauge contents. 😂

I have a spare butane clip on connector which operates as you have described which I am hoping I can use on a Patio gas bottle. (y) (y)

Patio gas uses a 27mm clip on connector,
A butane uses a 21mm clip on.
Just Google search for them
