Unfortunately, you don't say whether you have the current Vectra or the previous model or whether it is a saloon or an estate. Also, one would have to know the year of manufacture of your Sterling Europa 460 as it has grown from 1100kg in 1999 to 1250kg for 2005. I don't know the kerbweight of your Vectra (check on the VIN plate) but at worst, you could be around 95% and very close to the maximum permissible towload, too (the lowest figure is for the old Vectra estate at 1200kg) so the outfit could be marginal. But, one can only give you a definitive answer if you can supply more information.

According to the figure I have for an early Sterling Europa 460 (MTPLM of 1100kg), you'll be OK weight ratiowise (under 80%). Also based on that figure, you'll be quite legal as the lowest max. permissible towload of all Vectra 2.0DTI's, whether old or current model, is 1200kg.

The figure that I quoted, Neil, was the lowest of all 2.0DTI's, i.e. for the old model as an estate car. I'm not denying that it can be as high as 1500kg for other variants of the 2.0DTI but I was just stating the worst case.
