What does anybody think of the Vectra 2.2dti for towing. On paper the figures look good. It is to tow a caravan 1000kg fully laden with the view to tow a heavier van in the future.

Its a cracking car for towing,we,ve got one 03model,51mpg on a long run,approx 35-36mpg towing unbelievable but very true.Best car we have ever had,we tow a Bailey Pageant Champagne.Can thoroughly reccomend the car.Jim
 
Don't know about towing, but take one for a looong test drive, had a 2.2Dti as a hire car a year or so back, all was well for about 2 hours, then after that halfway between glasgow and edinburgh my back was in agony, I felt almost paralysed, pulled over crawled out of the car, eventally got back in, the seats on easyjet seemed so comfortable afterwards.

Never had a problem getting a good seating position for a long drive in any car before or since.

We have never had a problem with seating on our Vectra2.2dtisxi there a lot of adjustments that you can make on these seats including an adjustment on the lumbar part of the seat,perhaps as it was a hire car you hadn,t made these adjustments.Incidently both my wife and I hane back problems but not in this brilliant car.Jim
 
agree with jim,excellent towing car towing limit 1500kgs,kbw around 1430.had an 02 plate model mpg around 30-33 towing caravan(1250-1450) (nearly 100%),solo have had around 54mpg run - 40 - 45 round doors. only changed it because van was too near the 100% mark to tow with,and did not want to give the car to much to do otherwise i would still have it,really good car, ecxcellent.bought a terrano 3.0 sve 03 plate,awsome

should have said over 100% if loaded to max,never did though,always around the 1400 mark,hence nearly 100%
