Ian , hi , welcome on board. Lucky you. we have a 2.0 sri old shape and tow a 1250kgs max abbey stafford with no problems , so you should be well away especially as the reviews says the new 2.2 has a good range engine for a petrol , not sure what KW the new vectra is but at 1405 the old one is heavy enough for our van. be nice to know how you get on. Rgds

Considering the 2.2 may tow 1500 kg in its manual form and 1600 kg for the automatic, it should make light work of 1100 kg. With that weight behind you, even the lightest version of this model will still give you a ratio of under 85%.

You won't have any problems with the 2.2Lt & a Baily Discovery, I tow a Discovery with the New shape vectra 1.8Lt & have no problems. You will be OK even If you go for A Ranger as my brother-inlaw tows one of those with a 2Lt Kia & hase no problems. You will have a 1500kg max tow wieght & a kerb wieght of about 1420kg so with either van you will be OK wieght wise. I hope this helps you out.

We have the Vectra 2.2 LS and it pulls our ABI Dalesman with ease. Assuming your kerbweight is the same as ours (1460), it will eat the 1100kg for breakfast as it's way below the 85% ruling of 1241kg. Our only problem was that we had to get a special tow bar due to the shape of the bumper. Again, if your's is the same, make sure you have a towbar backplate put on as the towbar is VERY close to the bumper.

Hi Ian,

Like the other guys on this forum We have found that the Vectra2.2is a brilliant tow-car, ours is a diesel and we tow a Eldiss Hurricane. The Vectra makes such light work of towing that I do have to keep an eye on the speed.Jim
