Just returned from 2 weeks in Brittany. Even though the weather has been really bad it has not put us off France. Could anyone recommend a site in the Vendee (hopefully might get better weather next year).

Our favourite in Vendee is La Garangeoire. This year we tried Sequoia Parc which we alsofound nice. They are both part of Les Castels Chain of campsites (www.les-castels.com)

We enjoyed at Le Oceano Dor in Jard Sur Mer last year. A mile from the beach and you can walk into a lovely town from the site.

We went to a different site this year and would not reccomend the location.

We always stay at Val de Vie in Mache, it's an English run site, the facilities are superb, it's not far from La Roche sur Yon and about 30 minutes from the sea

Try the local Municipal site at Camping des Roses, Les Sables d'Olonne, it's only 1/4 mile from the beach, has large pitches and is within a stones throw of this thriving & lively resort. Great restaurants on the front too. You'll need to book early as it soon gets full. It doesn't have a bar, club house, shop or takeaway, but all that is within 10 mins walk. Great beaches, all with bars/restaurants/takeaways - we've had 4 great holidays there with our 3 kids when they were little and as teenagers (16,17,18)

If you are looking to go early Sept. next year, want a small peaceful site, small pool, v clean facilities, friendly owners, near miles of sandy beaches try La Mouette Cendre, St Vincent du Jard.

Have been there for past 11 years!! This area of France enjoys a micro climate similar to the Soth of France. Site fees are v reasonable.
