hello again
well we will be moving end of August out of Croatia and into Italy
Any recommendations on sites around Venice or the Northern lakes greatly appreciated

http://www.campingbutterfly.it/.. its at peschiera del garda on the bottom of lake garda easy access from the motorway and indeed into the site..you can walk along the lake shore[ concrete walkway] for
a mile or 2 passing by eateries ,you may well found entertainment along the walkway too. as you pass many establishment .this is to the right [east] of the town. or you could walk the 10 minutes or so [west] into the part old wall and moated town of peschiera del Garda.... you are also in a good central place to explore the lakes other gems ...

We used the following earlier this year and were very happy with them.

This is a 10 minute walk from the Ferry where you can get to all over the Lagoon. Suggest you look at buying a multi day ticket and visit Burano & Murano islands, beside of course St Marks Square, it lets you on all the ferrys, including Grand Canal. This is a small well appointed site and recommended.
Camping Bella Italia in Peschiera Del Garda 39 (0) 45 6400688 camping-bellaitalia.it
This is a very large site with many excellent facilities, smallish pitches but on the lake. Suggest you use the buses to go to Verona and Sirmione, rather than the car, bus stop just outside gate, buy tickets in site..
Camping Covello on Lake Iseo, small site but the most welcoming we have ever been in, the lake is beautiful, about 1 km from centre. 39 (0) 30 9821 305 info@campingcovello.it
Camping Conca D'Oro, Baveno - Lake Maggiorie 39 (0) 3232 8538 info@concadoro.it
Good site on the lake near to small village and Baveno & Stressa.
Regarding Lake Como our site was not too good, so avoid Camping Rivabell in Lecco.
