Vet & Campsite close to Calais.

Can anyone recommend a campsite within 1 hour of Calais (Eurotunnel)that has a Vet nearby that charges reasonable rates for injections prior to return U.K.

We paid 39 euros last year but have heard of others paying only 20/25 euros.

Plan to stay a few days there after returning from Spain - we usually have crossed from Cherbourg but are having a change this year. We have a touring caravan.

Thanks, Graham.

You don'tsay what time of year you are returning from Spain. If it is out of season before the last week in June you can use ACSI camping card, 15 euros a night at Guines site which is 15/20 mins from Eurotunnel. If you contact them they will be able to tell you all about the Vets nearby. We have not got a dog but have met lots of people staying at Guines who do have.

Thanks, Dianne

We are returning the the first week in July -crossing on the 9th.

Have not got the ACSI book/card for 2010 yet - will be buying it soon. Pity we are going to miss out at Guines.

The one that La Bien Asisse site (Guines) recommended to us was

Clinique Veterinaire du Camp du Drap d'Or in Ardres. It's a good vets, we have used it 3 years running but you won't get it cheaper there than 39 euros. If there are any charging 20 euros I'll also be interested.

Hi Graham,

Can't sing the praises of the vet in Ardres highly enough, very nice people.

A nice site not far away is http://www.campingstlouis.com/modulosite2/fiche.php?id_bouton=688&id=133&fr=0

Run by a friendly couple, excellent facilities and a really nice restaurant.

Hi,John,

Thanks for reply - the 25 euros was what people have told us!!

maybe the usual story - when we said we paid 39 euros -oh,we only paid 25 near Calais!!

Maybe thet supplied their own 'Frontline' & 'Drontal' worming tablet!!

The Vet in Ardres seems to be the favourite. Thanks.

Hi,wanderer,

just been on the website - thanks for that - looks good - Wi-Fi OK? Can't find their tarif.

Any idea of rates(roughly) per night for beginning of July?
