Vets near Calais

Chateau du Gandspette at Eperleques, and a vet in the village nearby. Lots of Brits use this site, for the convenience for ferries, but I doubt that the Vet opens at the weekend.

I think you have to have your dog done not less than 24 hours before sailing, but not more than 48 before, so the timing of your appointment is critical. If you don't fit this window at Calais, then perhaps better to have the dog seen nearer where you're setting off from rather than near the port.

If you use this site they will if you ask make the booking at the vets below http://www.camping-bien-assise.fr/

We stopped by chance at Camping La Chaumiere near St Omer, its in the Caravan Europe book. Not only is it a lovely site but the reason we stood out was that we were the only people WITHOUT a dog !! The phone number is 0033 328430357.

These people were really friendly and spoke English.

The owners wife actually works at the local vet and is more than happy to arrange stuff for you even at weekends (we were told when enquiring to another couple as to why so many dogs and owners were at this site.)

Added bonus is the restaurant on site did a fantastic meal the night we stayed.

Hope this helps, its about 45 mins from Calais
