Hi. Getting on in age now but dammed if I will stop caravan holidays, last year we visited Lake Garda in Italy. Recently I woke up, I had a dream, visit Portugal.
Hence my post requesting any feedback possible about your trip to Portugal, good and bad!
We will take a ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao, saw one called Brittany Ferries. Anyone used them and any Idea of the cost towing a caravan and experience.
Being of the Baby Boomers generation and not especially looking for beaches of mass entertainment are there any suggestions about sites that come recommended. Sites I say, let's clarify, first choice is a pitch with it's own private ablutions, a far second, a fully serviced pitch with all services provided. THE FORMER IS PREFERABLE.
Anyway look forward to the feedback.

We go to Lagos, Portugal every year.. Britanny Ferries are excellent nt but not cheap.
Our route tends to be via Salamanca (Camping Regio), Setubal and then on to Turiscampo in Lagos.
Turiscampo is part of the, French owned, Yellow Village Group. Fully serviced pitches, pool(s), restaurant etc. You can book pitches each with their own bathrooms, but, in our view ,it's wholly unnecessary are the toilet/shower blocks are immaculately maintained by a team of cleaners who clean them several times a day.
Large, but immaculately maintained site-again, not cheap! Very busy during school holiday times. I understand they have another excellent site South of Setubal....but we haven't been to that one.
Lagos, itself, is very pleasant and there are also beautiful white sand beaches-which I know are not your "thing."
