VJ Day

Nothing at all to do with caravanning I'm afraid but I'm still on a high after singing as a member of Vivat to perform a choral tribute to honour WW2 veterans and former POW's as part of the 70th VJ day commemorations at Lichfield Cathedral. The nave and side aisles were full to bursting, the brass band played well, (the Last Post by a lone bugler was real lump in the throat time) the cathedral organist did us proud and the service was attended by peace envoy Terry Waite and the Bishop of Lichfield. As we sang inside the magnificent cathedral I thought of my beloved father who fought in the jungles of Burma as part of the XIV Army during the war.
It was a priviledge and an honour to have the opportunity to sing in the cathedral on such an auspicious occasion.
