Volvo S80 Td

A local garage has a Volvo S80 2.5 Td 52 plate for sale with 140,000 on the clock @ £5995, and has offerd me £3000 for my 2001 406 hdi estate with 100,000 on the clock.Ive not got a problem with high mileage, but is 140 a bit to high,is the volvo past it,s towing life,or is it not a bad deal.Does anybody know the kerbweight of the Volvo. cheers.

I'm never put off by mileage if the car's right in every other respect. The only downside may be when you come to sell. 140k mls on a 3 1/2 year old car isn't a problem, but try to sell a 5 or 6 year old car in a couple of years time with 180k mls on it.

Mark,

Check to see if it has a full Volvo service history. If so, then that is a good advantage. From the age of it, it must be the very last of the 2.5TD's as the D5 was around at the 52 plate time. Do you know its history? Has it been a taxi to have achieved such a high mileage in the time? If you do decide to go for it, the Volvo Owners Club offer a lot of good advice on all Volvos.
