Hi Gordon,

Is there a reason why you would want to buy one of those. It looks a very expensive piece of kit and easily removed if you have not got your eye on it. It states you still need 50ft of cable to get a signal if you are in a wooded area, thats provided you have a clear view towards the satilite.

I use an old sky dish the type used on houses (cost nothing) my sky hd digi box from the house (only cost, my subscription to sky) a tripod to enable me to move the dish around for signal (cost £15 from ebay) Total cost £15 and I get sky every time.

To be honest I have had a look at the video ad for it and I just think it is going to be very expensive for something that is not needed. In my opinion save your money.

Thanks for your reply. As far as cable it needs the same amount as you would require for your tripod system. Advantages are you can be in the dry when raining to find the satellite signal and the wind will not blow the dish offline.

Hi Gordon,

£625, think i'll stick with the setup i've got thanks. I can see your point about setting up in the rain, if that happens I would leave it until it stopped raining, or buy a big umbrella LOL. I have seen some dishes blown over in the past but I always peg mine down, so far have never blow over or lost signal because of the wind.

Re: the US model, I don't see any reason why it won't work in the UK. It looks like it has the same setup as uk receivers and it also says it will receive free to air satilite so go for it. Let us know how you get on. You could even contact the company below and ask them.
